The Minnesota Wild have had bad luck with injuries recently. Joel Eriksson Ek, Kirill Kaprizov, and Jacob Middleton headline the list of players who have missed time for a team with contending aspirations.
The Minnesota Wild have turned the page to the new year. Despite their injuries, they have found a way to keep the New Year's celebration going by remaining undefeated in 2025. They’ve done so after losing seven games in December and Joel Eriksson Ek to injury.
The Wild started out the game in front with some quick goals but the Oilers fought back and took the lead and the win in the third.

Eriksson Ek registered a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers. Eriksson Ek set up Matt Boldy for the opening goal just 3:02 into the contest. The 27-year-old Eriksson Ek had been held off the scoresheet over the previous three games.
The infraction did not result in a penalty during the game, nor any response from NHL Player Safety afterward.
Bill Guerin might have been a little too honest at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season. "I rarely bring this up, but I'm going to bring it up today because it's real and it's important," Guerin said.
Minnesota scored the first two goals, both on the power play, but Connor McDavid rallied the Oilers with two goals and an assist.
The Wild held two separate leads before falling to Connor McDavid and the Oilers, losing Marcus Johansson along the way.

Case in point: Sunday’s goal in Vegas. He was on a two-on-one with Freddy Gaudreau. Hartman appeared to look over to Gaudreau as if to pass, but then he fired a great wrist shot and beat goalie Adin Hill glove-side.
