The Cincinnati Reds are reportedly adding to their bullpen through a trade with the San Francisco Giants. On Wednesday, multiple reports indicated that the Reds are acquiring left-hander Taylor Rogers from the Giants. It’s not known what the Reds will be sending the Giants in the trade. According to Rosenthal, the Reds tried to land Robert themselves before pivoting to free agent outfielder Austin Hays and also trading for Rogers when the Robert deal fell through. In the end, the Reds got Rogers, the White Sox kept Robert and the Giants wound up with neither.
The Giants will save $6 million by trading Rogers but aren't expected to spend that money on external additions this offseason.
