Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton will host NBC’s “Opry 100: A Live Celebration,” a 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 televised special honoring the Grand Ole Opry’s 100th anniversary.

No stranger to the Opry stage, Shelton was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Trace Adkins on Oct. 23, 2010, and he has performed there many times since.

Underwood took the stage at the event, titled "Opry 100: A Live Celebration," to honor Randy Travis, who welcomed her to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry 17 years ago in 2008.

Adkins then urged Shelton to read the tweet, which was projected on the screen behind them. “@blakeshelton, you’re invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. See you on 10/23/2010!” it read.
