Flood rates are accelerating in the US. When it comes to coastal flood threats specifically, the Mid-Atlantic region has suffered from the highest number of floods. Since 2010, Wilmington, North Carolina has been on the wrong side of the list,

On Tuesday at 5:22 p.m. a coastal flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 4 a.m. until Friday noon for Cape May County.

On Wednesday at 3:35 p.m. the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC issued a coastal flood advisory valid from Friday 1 a.m. until Saturday 10 a.m.

On Wednesday at 2:22 p.m. the NWS Wakefield VA issued a coastal flood advisory valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Friday 1 a.m.
