Officials from the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport announced Thursday that it had euthanized 12 birds in its collection after an infection of bird flu was detected.

The zoo has closed its farmyard and outdoor aviary after a deceased Cotton Patch goose was found to have bird flu.
