Mars' Deimos moon, captured by NASA's Perseverance rover. NASA Once in a while, you might look up and marvel at magnificent views of our moon, its surface dramatically lit by our sun’s light.
By contrast, Deimos is tiny, with a radius of 6 km, and quite a bit further out, more than 23,000 km from the surface. It is so small that, on the surface of Mars, ...
Discover the incredible transformation of Deimos into a powerful figure. With intricate designs and high-quality craftsmanship, this build captures the essence of the character in stunning detail.
The Martian moon Deimos, captured by ESA’s Hera spacecraft during its gravity-assist flyby on March 12. The moon appears dark, framed by the brighter planet Mars behind it, in this monochromatic ...
On March 12, the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Hera spacecraft captured rare images of Deimos, one of Mars’ two moons, from 621 miles away while en route to the asteroid moonlet Dimorphos.
Hera got as close as 1,000 kilometers, or about 620 miles, to Deimos. It used its various instruments to capture the images, characterize the mineral makeup on the moon and chart surface temperatures.
Europe's HERA mission has taken a good look at Mars and its moon Deimos on its way to explore the aftermath of the DART impact in the Didymos–Dimorphos asteroid system.
Hera was moving at 9 kilometres per second relative to Mars and was able to image the 12.4-kilometre-long Deimos from just 1000 kilometres away.
A European spacecraft on a journey to study NASA's asteroid crash site did a quick pop-in of Mars on its way, capturing unprecedented images of Mars' lesser-known moon, Deimos.. Mars has two moons ...
