The GOP-controlled House approved a resolution Friday that would overturn a new Biden administration rule on automobile emissions that Republicans say would force Americans to buy unaffordable electric vehicles they don’t want.

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives voted to repeal the Biden administration's tailpipe emissions rule on Friday. In March, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a rule on the sale of electronic vehicles, or EVs, that officials called the most ambitious plan ever to cut global-warming emissions from cars.

The Congressional Review Act resolution attacks what Republicans often refer to as the administration's "EV mandate."

SD's Dusty Johnson was among the yes votes as the U.S. House voted to roll back an EPA rule strengthening standards for air pollution from car and truck tailpipes.

The measure was led by Republican Rep. John James of Shelby Township, who criticized a "government takeover of our American automotive industry."
