John Shelton, longtime emergency services director for Surry County, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, an autopsy report released Tuesday said.

Foul play isn’t suspected in the death of a missing woman in Surry County, authorities said.

All three died of a gunshot wound to the head, Swanson said, and while still under investigation Swanson said the incident appears to have been a murder-suicide.
