Jack van Poortvliet’s last-gasp try has earned England a 22-17 win over Argentina and another test series victory in Pumas country.

It was a late Denny Solomona try which sealed victory for England at this stadium in 2017, and it was another score at the death, this time by Jack van Poortvliet, which saw history repeat itself on Saturday.

England scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet scored a late try as they edged Argentina 22-17 in San Juan to claim the two-Test series 2-0. Replacement Van Poortvliet, 24, crossed with less than two minutes to go as Steve Borthwick’s tourists followed up last weekend’s win in La Plata with another victory before they finish the season
