A Charles Manson follower who helped kill pregnant actress Sharon Tate could be freed from prison after being recommended parole following 55 years behind bars.

One of his followers, Susan Atkins, died of brain cancer in prison in 2009. Another, Leslie Van Houten, walked free in July 2023 after spending over five decades in custody.

Along with co-defendants Susan Atkins and Leslie Van Houten, Krenwinkel at one point showed up to court with an X carved on her foreheard, as Manson had also done.
