Local officials in northern Palm Beach County keep property tax rates the same, but expect to bring in more money as property values rise.

Council members directed staff to keep working on new rules amid pushback from local boaters who say those rules threaten their way of life.

The Palm Beach Town Council said on Sept. 10 that it will soon vote to join a lawsuit against a new law that limits municipal governing authority.

A Florida appeals court recently found the state's open carry ban unconstitutional and law enforcement officials on the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County are addressing the change.
