Israeli security forces took up positions inside the West Bank city of Tubas and ordered some Palestinian residents from their homes, the latest assault in a months-long campaign across cities of the northern West Bank.

Israel plans to seize parts of a major West Bank historic site and settlers have established a new outpost there, even as the country faces pressure to crack down on settler violence in the Palestinian territory.
