CLIFTON PARK — The Capital Region's last two Stride Rite locations — one of the few remaining shoe stores for kids where their feet are measured for proper fit — will close by the end of August.

Slone came to Stride Rite Friday afternoon to get her daughter sized for the first time. "I was trying to put her in a size one shoe," Slone said. "They sized her, and she's actually a size four.
