Bryant was perhaps most well-known for her 1977 “Save Our Children” campaign that painted gays and lesbians as a threat to the country’s youth.

She was named Miss Oklahoma in 1958 and soon began a successful recording career. Her hit singles included “Till There Was You,” “Paper Roses” and “My Little Corner of the World.”

Anita Bryant Dry, entertainer and anti-gay activist, died in December at her Edmond home, according to an obituary submitted by her family. She was 84.
