The California FAIR Plan, the state’s insurer of last resort, had just $377 million available last week to pay claims that could reach billions, officials said.

Countless vehicles have been burned and will be total losses due to to the California wildfires, and whether or not they are covered depends on the owner's insurance policy.

Insurers like TRV, ALL, MCY and LMND, which still have significant operations in California, have lost 3.9%, 4.8%, 22.7% and 10.6%, respectively, in the last two trading sessions.
