John Harrington, MD, board-certified general surgeon, has submitted his resignation from TCMH, effective immediately. Dr.

Harrington, who also co-founded the nonprofit Ujamaa Place and served a term in the state senate, was crowned as the 88th King Boreas at the St. Paul Winter Carnival’s Royal Coronation on Jan. 24.

John Michael Harrington Jr. was born in East Boston and moved with his parents a few years later to West Roxbury. His father, John Sr., drove the Boston Fire Department’s Engine 30 for many years.
