NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed during a Q&A session at Utah Valley University, the first stop on his Turning Point USA tour, “The American Comeback Tour.” Kirk was scheduled to bring the tour to LSU in October, and many young Republicans were eager to attend.

While some politicians used the shooting to make political points, most stuck to more unifying messages of support or condemnations of violence.

Charlie Kirk, a popular conservative commentator, was shot while speaking to a large crowd at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the university confirmed.
