Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center student was identified as the person killed in a hit-and-run on Highway 1 near Monterey on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a hit-and-run on Highway 1 in Monterey Sunday morning. A CHP spokesperson said that around 9:48 a.m., there were reports of a two-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 1 just past Aguajito Road.
