An autopsy has confirmed that a Black student at Delta State University who was found hanging from a tree on campus died by suicide, police announced.

The body of a 21-year-old Delta State University student, Demartravion "Trey" Reed, was discovered "hanging from a tree" on campus Monday morning, prompting an investigation, the university said. Delta State University Chief of Police Michael Peeler said at a press conference that there was no evidence of foul play at this time.
