The next-generation Dodge Durango looks to be back on.

The UAW believed the company was going back on its plant investment commitments. Now, as Trump takes office, the automaker has renewed its U.S. plans.

Automaker Stellantis plans to reopen an assembly plant in Illinois and build the next generation Dodge Durango in Detroit, the automaker said Wednesday

Big Three automaker Stellantis is making a number of moves in the US, in response to the new Trump administration and its focus on building products in America.

Stellantis announced it will reopen the idled Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois and launch production of a new midsize truck.

Stellantis will also reopen its shuttered Belvidere plant in Illinois and invest in its Kokomo engine plant in Indiana.

ASOTIN — The driver of a vehicle involved in a Clarkston car crash was allegedly fleeing from a police stop when his Dodge Durango collided with a pickup-truck at Sixth and Libby streets on Tuesday.

In an email to employees North America Chief Operating Officer Antonio Filosa confirmed that the plant in Belvidere, about 70 miles northwest of Chicago, will produce a new midsize pickup truck. The move will put about 1,500 UAW-represented employees back to work.

Officials said Jason Blakenship was last seen on Tuesday around 4 p.m., leaving his home on Old Thomasville Road.
