It didn’t take the Minnesota Wild long to get payback for their injured captain on Saturday as they visited the Nashville Predators. Less than two minutes into the contest, Wild forward Yakov Trenin and Predators pest Zachary L’Heureux dropped the gloves to even the score from a play on Dec.

Kaprizov, who's been out since Dec. 23 with a lower-body injury, joined his first full practice since then on Friday as did defensemen Brock Faber (upper body) and Jared Spurgeon (lower body), according to The Athletic's Michael Russo.

PAUL - The Minnesota Wild announced on Monday that they have placed defenseman Jared Spurgeon on the Injured Reserve list. Spurgeon, 35, suffered a lower-body injury against the Nashville Predators after Zachary L'Heureux slew-footed him.

The Nashville Predators beat the Minnesota Wild 6-2 on Saturday night in a game that featured three fights in the first 6:24.

Nashville (15-22-7, 37 points) beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Thursday, clinching the win with a 3-for-3 shootout performance from Gustav Nyquist, Ryan O'Reilly, and Steven Stamkos. It was the Predators' first appearance in a shootout this season.

Zach L'Heureux was suspended 3 games for a slew-foot on the Wild's Jared Spurgeon on Dec. 31. The Predators winger had to answer for the hit on Saturday.

The Wild went 3-for-3 on fights in the opening six minutes of their matchup, taking out some frustration on Nashville. However, Minnesota may have burned off all of its energy exacting revenge. With the fighting out of the way, the Predators — third from last in the Western Conference — still had a game they could win.
