NEWARK, N.J. – When Travis Konecny had an “A” for alternate captain sewn on his jersey last season, it was for good reason. But years before this, his teammates probably would have opted for an “L” because he had already evolved into a leader. The Flyers veteran right wing has elevated his game to a new, higher level this season.
The Philadelphia Flyers dismantled the Anaheim Ducks in Saturday’s game at Wells Fargo Center, winning in decisive fashion 6-0. But there was also some drama surrounding the contest, as it featured the return of former Flyers draft pick Cutter Gauthier to Philadelphia for the first time since he requested a trade out of town.
Konecny scored an empty-netter in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Devils. Konecny potted his 21st goal of 2024-25 in the final seconds of the third period. He has five tallies and eight helpers in his last 10 outings. Konecny has a team-leading 54 points through 47 games this season.
