SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A tropical depression formed Saturday in the Bay of Campeche off Mexico’s southeast coast and is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm over the weekend.

Tropical Storm Andrea formed over the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday morning, marking the first named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Andrea is expected to weaken quickly and become a post-tropical low soon. It is the first tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
