When Laura Hrebeniuk joined Appleby College in Oakville, Ont., in 2013 as a facility co-ordinator, she soon discovered she wasn’t the only one passionate about the environment.

Appleby College is among Canada’s leading independent day and boarding schools. Founded in 1911, it is a co-ed institution where 800 students studying in Grades 7 through 12.
