TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa and Oklahoma leaders unveiled the first U.S. Bike Route 66 sign along the famous route. The goal is to have the route well identified ahead of the centennial in 2026.

The first sign designating Route 66 as “Bike Route 66” was installed Tuesday in Tulsa. The signs are part of the push to promote Route 66 tourism, before the highway Centennial in 2026.

The Chippewa Valley has new user-friendly bike signs that link 20 routes across the area. A new online map is also helping cyclists locate routes from their phones.
