Built between 1672 and 1695 by the Spanish, The Castillo de San Marcos served as a fort for more than 205 years. It's the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S.

Castillo pulled himself out of a rough patch Sunday, snaring a quality start and not allowing a home run. The 32-year-old had allowed 16 runs (14 earned) in 22 innings over his previous four starts.

It's open from 10 a.m. until midnight in July and August. Keep in mind that although visiting the Castillo de Santa Barbara is free, the elevator ride will cost you 3 euros (or about $3.50).
