Cygnus cargo ship set to rendezvous with space station after delay caused by engine shutdowns
This comes after two planned engine firings shut down prematurely, NASA said, putting the Cygnus cargo ship's approach to the space station on hold.
NASA on Wednesday night resumed plans to moor an uncrewed cargo craft to the International Space Station after resolving an early engine-shutdown issue it said was caused by a "conservative safeguard" in the vehicle's software settings.
The damage occurred during the shipment of the spacecraft's pressurized cargo module from its manufacturer in Italy. While Northrop Grumman hopes to repair the module and launch it on a future flight, officials decided it would be quicker to move forward with the next spacecraft in line for launch this month.
NASA plans to send the ISS into Earth's atmosphere in 2030, and it has no plans for a replacement — at least, not directly.

After 2030, Who Will Replace The International Space Station?
The International Space Station (ISS) is set to meet its end in 2030, when NASA will guide it into Earth’s atmosphere for a controlled reentry. As reported by Space.com, questions are rising about whether humanity will maintain a permanent presence in low Earth orbit or face another gap like the one that followed Skylab.
Life on the International Space Station isn't always easy. There's not a lot of room, no showers, and no laundry. Photos show how astronauts live.
