Kotka, Finland, has removed its last publicly displayed statue of Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin in wake of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Approximately 7,000 statues of Lenin were placed around Russia during the Soviet era, with 6,000 estimated to still exist. Since 2013, Ukraine has demolished the majority of its Communist monuments.
