Tourists on the London Eye this afternoon have been told engineers would be in attendance as they remained stuck in the attraction's pods, as temperatures hit a searing 28C.
And so, the London Eye, as it came to be known, took its place on the skyline - 135m (443ft) tall, with 32 capsules for people to ride in.
