Yankees All-Star left-hander Max Fried left a start against the Chicago Cubs after a season-low three innings because of a a blister on his left index finger.

Ace Max Fried will no longer be available to pitch in the All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta next week. Fellow left-hander Carlos Rodón took his spot as a reserve pitcher, the league announced.

The Yankees left-hander pulled out of the Midsummer Classic on Friday — and was replaced by teammate Carlos Rodón — due to him starting Saturday’s game against the Cubs, which would have had him pitching on two days of rest in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
