MISSOULA, Mont. — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks recently released the findings of a 10-year research study on moose populations across the state, showing positive trends for these iconic animals.

BILLINGS – Moose numbers are stable to increasing in three regions selected as representative of Montana’s moose population, concluded a 10-year study conducted by Montana Fish, Wildlife &; Parks.

Moose tags in northeastern Montana’s Region 6, another largely plains and prairie region, have been offered since 2008. In that first year, 98 hunters applied for the two tags offered.
