The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is finally approaching its end of life on October 21. Before that, the company released one last Android 12-based update for the foldable.

Microsoft is looking toward truly foldable displays for its next Surface Duo. A report suggests Microsoft has scrapped a Surface Duo 3 with a dual-screen design in favor of a foldable one.

The report says the canceled Surface Duo 3 would have had "narrower and taller edge-to-edge displays," which would have put the phone in a more reasonable form factor.

The Surface Duo 3 will supposedly use a foldable screen instead of sticking with its original dual-screen design. Microsoft may also be working on a new “mainstream” slab-style phone.
