Surf Life Saving WA said a member of the public saw the two-metre shark just 10m offshore near the Swan Yacht Club in East Fremantle about 6.45am on Wednesday.

When the group started swimming in the Swan River in 2007, the group would enter the water near the Swan Yacht Club in East Fremantle and swim to the Fremantle traffic bridge and back most mornings.
