TSMC has reportedly started production of Apple's iPhone chips in its Arizona foundry, with the first to be made in America set to be the A16.

TSMC has started production in its first US fabrication unit in Arizona. It's manufacturing Apple's A16 processors.

Way back in 2022, Apple CEO Tim Cook stood next to President Biden at TSMC's new fab in Arizona and proclaimed the company would be first in line for the chips rolling off the manufacturing line in a few years.

According to the report, the Apple A16 Bionic application processor is currently made in 'small, but significant, numbers' using TSMC's N4P (4nm-class) process technology at Fab 2

For the very first time, Apple's A16 chip is being manufactured in the US at TSMC's Arizona-based Fab 21 facility.
