Sixty years ago today, the Byrds scored their first No. 1 with a Bob Dylan-penned song that would define an emerging genre.

Pink Floyd's "When The Tigers Broke Free" is one of the band's most personal songs. Maybe too personal, as it was years before many heard it.

The song was written by David Bowie — but a big part of its magic came from the intro created by Mott guitarist Mick Ralphs.
