Filmmaker James Cameron recently revealed to Empire magazine that the upcoming third installment in his Avatar franchise will actually be longer than 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, which ran three hours and 12 minutes long.

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment of James Cameron’s box office-shattering fantasy franchise, is not for the weak of bladder. The veteran director intends to take audiences on an extended cinematic journey that exceeds the butt-numbing runtime of 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water.

Despite different themes, Fire & Ash is deeply interconnected with The Way of Water, offering nuanced characters. Early comments on Fire & Ash praise added depth and suggest a visually stunning and compelling viewing experience.
