Florida football head coach Billy Napier will be hoping for a win in the SEC on Saturday, as rumblings about his future heat up.

Before Florida Gators coach Billy Napier became embattled coach Billy Napier, he strolled into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in December 2021 with a deep understanding of his new program’s championship aspirations.

The Florida Gators (1-2, 0-1 SEC) dropped to 12-16 under Napier following a 33-20 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday at The Swamp. Florida also lost 41-17 to Miami in its opener and trailed by as many as 28 points in the second half against Miami and 26 points in the second half against TAMU.

The Gators' national rankings in scoring offense and yards per rush decreased in each of Napier's three seasons at the helm, pointing to glaring deficiencies in the trenches. This is an offensive line unit that, per the 247Sports Talent Composite, accounts for none of the team's eight five-star prospects and none of its top 15 players overall.
