Chicago’s weather this week includes mild conditions today with highs near 40 degrees, followed by rain tonight and on New Year’s Eve, potentially mixing with snow in northern areas.

New Year’s Day ushers in colder weather, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 30°F, making for a chilly start to 2025.

Rain is expected to make an appearance in the Chicago area late Saturday night, and like the last few rainy days, fog will develop as well. Sunday morning, Chicago will be dealing with rain and fog, while northwest Indiana will primarily have heavier and more widespread rain.
