The Denver Broncos have been named as a prime landing spot for controversial Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
According to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, the Denver Broncos and the State of Colorado, Burnham Yard could become the site for a new NFL stadium. The stadium will be privately funded and have a retractable roof.
"In the spirit of a true civic partnership, the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group will privately fund this investment."
Denver Water will sell 25 acres of its 36-acre campus, giving the Broncos a key block of land they need to build a new stadium and mixed-use entertainment district at Burnham Yard.
The 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year started the 2025 season with a stat line that showed one pass breakup. But that was all that Denver cornerback Patrick Surtain II could have recorded in the Broncos’ 20-12 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
In concept, the stadium could be designed similarly to the Arizona Cardinals' State Farm Stadium, which also has a retractable roof and a grass surface to play on. State Farm Stadium has hosted three Super Bowls (2008, 2015 and 2023) since becoming the home of the Cardinals.
One of the more interesting footnotes to come out of the Denver Broncos' season-opening victory last Sunday was the apparent emergence of running back Tyler Badie, who officially won the third-string job over Jaleel McLaughlin and saw extensive action against the Tennessee Titans.
