Homeless encampment sweeps begin in New Orleans per order of Gov. Landry
The sweep comes after the Louisiana Supreme Court ruled in favor of Governor Jeff Landry, allowing him to implement his “Strategy on Homeless” on Monday, Jan. 13. Landry announced that he would provide emergency funding to those living in public spaces near the Caesars Superdome and in the French Quarter ahead of the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras.
