More than 440,000 Powerball tickets sold in the United States won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.

As the Powerball jackpot continues to grow ahead of the Sept. 6 drawing, here's a look back at where Washington's biggest Powerball prize was won.

Two tickets sold in Texas and Missouri matched five numbers and the Powerball to take home the grand prize, according to Powerball's website. With the Powerball jackpot climbing to an estimated $1.8 billion ahead of Saturday night’s drawing, Washington’s Lottery has released a detailed look at the state’s “luckiest” retailers — the stores where players have purchased the most winning tickets.

WASHINGTON — Powerball players in two states won Saturday’s massive jackpot and will split an estimated $1.787 billion after more than three months of drawings without winners. The winners, in Missouri and Texas, could also choose to take part of the cash payout, valued at approximately $826.4 million.

Powerball tickets sold in Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming matched five winning numbers and the Power Play multiplier to win $2 million each in the Wednesday, Sept. 3 drawing, the national Powerball site said.
