USC quarterback Matt Barkley, a projected first-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, actually hurt his stock some by instead returning for another year with the Trojans. He was still picked in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft and went on to have a decade-long career as a backup. There are worse fates.

Some will stay where they are, some will head into the transfer portal and some will take a leap of faith and declare for the NFL draft.

Over the last few days, the Texas Longhorns have seen some of their key players move onto the next stop of their football journey by declaring for the NFL Draft. That list now includes Alfred Collins and Vernon Broughton.

Texas football is losing yet another player to the NFL Draft. Offensive lineman Cameron Williams is declaring for the draft, per ESPN. He joins a horde of other Longhorns who are leaving Austin this offseason.
