The Atlanta Falcons didn't travel Younghoe Koo for their road game at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night and elevated fellow kicker Parker Romo from the practice squad to handle the duties. The Falcons downgraded Koo to out with a non-injury designation on Saturday.
Week one in the NFL was a struggle for several kickers around the league -- one of those being Atlanta’s Younghoe Koo.
The Falcons are deciding on what to do with Younghoe Koo, however, a major hint on his future could have just been hinted at.
After holding a workout with several kickers, the Falcons are signing John Parker Romo to their practice squad, who made 11 of his 12 field goal attempts last season as a member of the Vikings, according to NFL Media. Romo, 28, spent training camp with the Patriots but was released during final roster cuts.
The Falcons have to figure out if it’s time to walk away from kicker Younghoe Koo. They brought in six kickers Tuesday to tryout for his job. Parker Romo, who is from Peachtree City and played at McIntosh High, was the survivor. He was signed to the practice squad.
Atlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo still has a job. But he won't be working on Sunday. The Falcons downgraded Koo to out for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The decision is not injury related, according to the Falcons. Koo did not travel with the team to Minnesota for the Sunday night game.
