Map coloring is based on the median for each metric It's nice these are peak hours. Boy this map would have looked a lot worse nine months ago but the service has really improved, at least in California.

Jun 19, 2020 · The angle I return for a satellite at 440km elevation is 20.72 degrees - which is a radius of roughly 2302 km, which seems to line up with your number (the satellite I picked at random is lower than 550 km, but so is the result).

Feb 10, 2021 · I was viewing the starlink satellite coverage map, and it shows the earth being round. Does anyone know if the flat earthers made their own model to show coverage and satellite movements. I am curious to see how they think these satellites are moving in the flat earth. Do they just turn around once they reach Austrailia and make their way back?

Starlink is low and remaining atmospheric drag cleans out junk fast. The high junk density is in orbits above 700km where atmospheric drag is negligible and the dominant cleaning forces are Moon and Sun perturbations and solar radiation effects.

Mar 28, 2022 · Starlink must have an extremely complicated computer model for optimizing throughput. It has to determine which satellite antenna should point where for each fraction of a millisecond. Obviously continuous coverage is a big concern, but from there it's possible to move a thousand different levers to optimize bandwidth utilization.
