TrueCar is an advertising service for the dealers. It’s like LendingTree or any other aggregate service. They aren’t doing anything special in the back end just keeping a DB on what cars sell for. In this sense they really aren’t a car buying service at all.

Jul 7, 2023 · True car and Costco are not the same, true car is probably larger but generally more costly to the dealership, and a lot of companies have “car buying programs” they offer and most are just truecar, Costco has its own program, and is generally better (at least for the dealer). I hate Truecar with every fiber of my being.
