Helmet: The standard issue space marine helmet is airtight and durable, while still allowing a wide view area. Flashlight: Pierce the darkness using this high-powered flashlight. Unfortunately, it is quite large and is almost impossible to use while firing.

There is a DOOM 3 add-on that allows to add the Marine helmet to the player character (https://www.moddb.com/mods/arls-improvements/addons/player-helmet-add-on), and I was hoping that, despite having no experience modding, I could manage to do the same with the RoE protagonist with some elbow grease.

Nov 28, 2016 · In Doom 3, while the player is seen wearing armor, the armor does not include a helmet. Odd, seeing as how you have to run across the surface of Mars. In The Lost Mission, the player character is seen wearing a helmet prior to being attacked.

In Doom 3, the marine is seen in a few scenes not to be wearing a helmet (the first red scene in the toilets, for example). Yet, he is able to walk on the surface of Mars without any trouble. Presumably he has a helmet and puts it on when required, and this is simply not shown as a contrivance to maintain the flow of gameplay.
