The PTC Fiber Optic Network Project is focused on constructing a large-scale fiber optic broadband network across eastern PA to enhance its communications capacity.

May 1, 2024 · Construction began in spring 2023 to widen and reconstruct four-plus miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the Downingtown Interchange (Milepost 312) east to the Valley Hill Road bridge (Milepost 316) in Upper Uwchlan, Uwchlan, West Pikeland, and Charlestown Townships in Chester County.

This stretch of I-70 connects with three other Pennsylvania Interstate routes: I-79, I-43 (PA Turnpike Extension) and I-76 (PA Turnpike Mainline) and West Virginia's I-70. Project Type: Roadway Improvements, Bridge Replacements and Rehabilitation, Interchange Improvements and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

Sep 24, 2024 · In 2023, the PA Turnpike supported more than $690 million in construction bids to modernize, maintain or improve customer experience. Key projects include resurfacing 46+ miles of roadway, a record-high 27 miles of total reconstruction, and replacing key bridges at Beaver River and Hawk Falls.

The nal MFE project from PA Route 51 to I-376 will complete the 68-mile MFE and further improve the local transportation network by providing safe, ecient transportation improvements from Jefferson Hills to Monroeville.
