Is there any list or indicator of which games support HGIG? I found the PS5's HDR Calibration set-up to be very lackluster and somehow inferior to the Xbox's which was also not great.

Jan 1, 2021 · Alongside this, the Ps5 system HDR calibration settings only applies to games that actually use it (HGIG) as opposed to having game specific calibration. For instance Spider-Man MM use the PS5 settings whereas AC Valhalla uses its own method. Hopefully the format will continue to be more standardised to save us having to second guess.

All the PS5 option does is put the screen into HDR mode, and then accurately map the SDR content to accurate colour and brightness points within a BT.2020/HDR container/gamut/range. The end result should look identical to SDR content with the screen in SDR mode.

Jan 31, 2024 · I've been messing around with HDR since release, it's been so hard to fine tune to preference. Mines currently at, HDR brightness 20, HDR whitepoint 25. This gets rid of the washed out pale look, whilst staying vibrant and clear... for me at least. When it comes down to it, it's the tv settings that make the most difference.

Can someone explain this hgig thing, because even after ps5 hdr calibration, when I switched to hgig and go back and forth in tv menu between hgig and tone mapping off is the same, and when I turn on hdr (dtm) is suddenly picture pops up.
