Sep 3, 2015 · I have followed several threads about this, but found no answer. I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and I want the simple, classic Solitaire I played on Windows 7. Someone keeps posting that the new X-box games are better--not to me they aren't. This is not an answer to the question but an argument that the question isn't valid.

Welcome to the modern age of Windows 7. The old Solitaire game from XP has been replaced, for good apparently. It might be possible to copy the Solitaire program from someone with XP on their machine. I really liked 'Pinball' and copied it to a USB flash drive and then placed it in my Windows 7, it works perfectly.

I am an uber-compulsive FreeCell player, but the Win10 version sucks. It takes 5 clicks to get into it (I refuse to register or upgrade). The graphics are difficult on the eyes. The whole experience is a drag.
