
Uxbridge Market House - Wikipedia
The Market House, also known as Uxbridge Town Hall, is a commercial building in the High Street in Uxbridge, a suburb of London, England. The building, which is currently in commercial use, is a Grade II* listed building.

The Market Hall was opened in October 1884 on the north east corner of Brock Street and Toronto Street. This building was erected two years after the original building was destroyed by fire. The lower floor was occupied by many different tenants over the years and Uxbridge council held its meetings on the upper level for many years.

A new Market Hall was built in 1788 on the corner with Windsor Street. It was built right up against St Margaret's Church. The church is hidden behind the Market Hall in this photograph. The Old Market House in the 50's was a lively and central part of the daily shopping scene. There was a butcher (Dewhursts i think), a baker, several greengrocers, a fruiterer, a flower stand, an ironmongery stand and a man who sold cheap glass and crockery.
